At Kulap Primary School, English and Literacy is a key part of the curriculum, helping students develop the skills to read, write, speak, listen, and view confidently and effectively. Aligned with the F–6 Victorian Curriculum 2.0, our program ensures students progressively build their abilities in phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, and writing across genres, preparing them for success in all areas of learning.
For students learning English as an Additional Language (EAL), targeted support is provided to develop language proficiency, confidence, and engagement across the curriculum. Lessons are designed to be engaging, interactive, and relevant, including reading and discussing texts, creative and persuasive writing, oral presentations, and listening activities. Students also explore digital literacy and multimodal texts, helping them navigate a range of communication forms in today’s world.
Through collaborative projects, guided reading, writing workshops, and speaking opportunities, students develop critical thinking, creativity, and personal and social capabilities. At Kulap Primary School, English and Literacy learning goes beyond reading and writing—it empowers students to communicate effectively, think deeply, and express themselves with confidence from Foundation through to Year 6.
